Art connects: Müritz sets signs of global inclusion!
At the Internet meeting in Berlin, which took place on June 16, 2025, the world came together to talk about the inclusion of people with disabilities. Around 3000 participants from 100 countries discussed how inclusion can be promoted in different areas of life. The establishment of the PIP Alliance in Europe, the aim of which is to actively promote peace, inclusion and commitment. Hanni Rossek, the chair of the Müritz disability association, emphasized the immense importance of this initiative and demanded more commitment to disadvantaged groups. "We are all challenged to make the world more child -friendly and inclusive," says Rossek.
A central element of the meeting was the presentation of works of art from all over the world, especially children who will be incorporated into a large common work. This artistic approach is to open creative opportunities to propagate the idea of inclusion at a global level. The Müritz Disabled Association calls on to send artistic work in order to participate in this important project. Inclusion is therefore lived not only in the social, but also in the creative area.
inclusion as a social goal
What does inclusion actually mean? In contrast to exclusion in which people with disabilities are excluded from society, or for separation that brings it into special institutions, inclusion means that these people are completely integrated into society. The environment is adapted to your needs, be it through barrier -free schools or access to jobs. Such measures are not only desirable, but also urgently necessary, because we live at a time when more and more people need support.
According to current statistics, there are around 13 million people with impairments or disabilities in Germany. The social barriers that need to be overcome for these people are often not even to be found on an individual level. Rather, they lie in the structures of our society and the political mandate that Germany has taken over as part of the UN Convention on the Rights of Disabilities. Among other things, this provides for promoting participation and counteracting discrimination.progress and challenges in everyday life
Although a lot has already been achieved in the area of inclusion - public transport has improved and integration assistance has gained in importance - there is still a lot to do. For example, challenges in everyday life, such as food in public, are still given. The Müritz Disabled Association is also committed to promoting creative activities such as the handicrafts of greeting cards and paper flowers. Such projects not only bring joy, but also a cooperation that is so important for inclusion.
For people with disabilities, employment participation is often a challenging topic: compared to people without impairments, it is significantly lower. Unemployment is also an issue that cannot be ignored. According to current figures, unemployment stagnates among severely disabled people and, despite government funding measures, is above the average values of people without disabilities.
A call to participate in this important initiative was also pronounced on the part of the Müritz Disabled Association. All interested parties are cordially invited to send their artistic work to the association and thus become part of a global project that wants to bring more inclusion into our society through art and creativity.
In times when awareness of social justice grows, it is important that each of us makes a contribution to inclusion. Art can act as a link and reduce barriers - in the Müritz region and worldwide.
