Christmas magic in Pasewalk: mulled wine party and festive surprises!
The traditional Christmas market opened in Pasewalk on Friday evening, making visitors' hearts beat faster with a colorful program. Santa Claus welcomed the guests to the joyful singing of the children from the Ueckertal elementary school and was available for happy photos. Particularly pleasing: This time Ralf Schwarz, mayor and primary school principal, took on the role of Santa Claus himself to ensure the best atmosphere together with David Dörrie, the fire protection officer in the town hall. At the same time, Santa Claus accompanied the jury during the mulled wine tasting, while the market lights made the atmosphere even more festive.
The Christmas market started on Thursday with a hustle and bustle that captivated the whole family. Both young and old could look forward to a diverse program. For example, there was the charming fairy tale performance “The Brave Little Tailor” in the Pommern Hall, where the children's happy faces captured unforgettable moments. On Friday evening, tightrope walker Lisa Wilke provided captivating entertainment and the dancers from the “bee free” club also shone with impressive performances on Saturday.
Mulled wine party and winner announcement
An absolute highlight was the mulled wine party on Friday evening. The search was on for the best mulled wine, and the result was impressive. Tom Rossow impressed the jury with his “Hot Spritz” and “Hot Shot” and deservedly secured the wooden plaque from the entrepreneurs' association. The jury, consisting of the mayor's deputy and members of the business association, had their hands full during the extensive tasting to select the best from the numerous offerings.
On Saturday, visitors were also able to snack on cookies at Santa's Christmas bakery - the sweet delicacies were generously sponsored by the housing association (Woba) and prepared by volunteers from the Service for Christ association, the city president and the deputy mayor. The response from visitors and vendors was consistently positive, even if dealers like Burkhard Graf, who sells liqueur, noted the cautious purchasing behavior of some guests.
A big piece of tradition
And as if that wasn't enough, the huge Stollen from the Zillmer bakery will be cut on Sunday afternoon, another highlight for all those with a sweet tooth. This delicious treat is also supported by a local sponsor, the Lokschuppen.
However, in the midst of the festive activities, other events also took place: On Saturday there was a demonstration with around 20 participants, but it was unrelated to the Christmas market. Despite these sideshows, the focus remains on the magical offerings that the Christmas market in Pasewalk offers. An all-round successful winter highlight for the region!
