On June 21, 2025, a very special occasion will be celebrated in Ticino: the Ticino marching band will be 100 years old! This anniversary is not only important in the small town, but also a highlight for the entire Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania region. On the morning of the festival, visitors can look forward to a big march through the city, in which, among others, marching bands from Schwerin, Parchim, Malchow, Goldberg, Stralsund, Barth and Neubukow will take part. The Penkun shawm band and the Neustrelitz fanfare procession have also confirmed their attendance. After the parade, the clubs present themselves on the sports field and put together a varied program.
Cultural significance and club development
The mayor of Ticino, Maik Ritter, emphasizes the important role of the marching band in the cultural life of the city. Since its founding in 1925, the train has accompanied local social life and provided musical entertainment in Ticino and the surrounding area TSV unit Ticino.
