Young talents shine: Successful speedway season in Ludwigslust!

The 2025 speedway season has passed, and while the temperatures outside are dropping, the youngsters at MC Mecklenburgring Parchim are shining even brighter. These talented young drivers not only shaped the season with outstanding performances, but also drew attention to the committed youth work that Christian Seliger has initiated since 2012. Thanks to his vision, which he implemented by founding the “Drift Kids”, children and young people have the opportunity to develop further in speedway sports. Matthias Lehmann, who has been active since 2013 and has been the first club chairman since September 2023, draws a positive conclusion.

It wasn't just the club's work that was rewarded; Continuous and effective youth work even received an honorary award. This makes the 14 drivers of the “Drift Kids” and their tireless efforts all the more remarkable. Particularly noteworthy is Nick Greßmann, who is only nine years old and has made it to the top of the North German track championship. He became the North German track champion and secured the title of MV national champion in the PW 50 as well as third place in the German championship.

Events and future plans

There are exciting prospects for all young drivers in the coming year. A trial training session will begin on March 28, 2026, which is intended to enable young talents to get started in the sport. There are also two important events on the program: the “Kids Games” on July 25, 2026 and the “Speedway Kids Camp” from July 27 to 31, 2026. Participation in Danish competitions is also encouraged through Christian Seliger's contacts, further strengthening the opportunity to gain international experience.

The successes of the “Drift Kids” speak for themselves. For example, Max Anderlik came in eighth place in the North German track championship in the PW 50, while Rune Schmiege took 13th place. In the Junior BII class, Fynn-Niklas Koch was able to achieve ninth place in the NBM despite only one race. At the same time, we can celebrate Hannah Grunwald, who is not only world champion in the Womans Trophy, but has also now signed a contract as a U21 rider with AC Devils Landshut.

The achievements of MC Ludwigslust

Another notable chapter in this year's season was the commitment of MC Ludwigslust, which also organized a trial training session and was present in the North German track championship with ten drivers. Johannes Ebel was celebrated for his seventh place in the SGP4 and his successes in the NBM and the national championship. Next season he will compete on a 500R machine for MC Güstrow and plans to apply for SGP4 again.

The performances were also impressive in the PW 50: Mats Linus Korte finished the season in third place, followed by Theo Bosse and Ben Züchtig. At the same time, Ole Möllmann and Jannis Schröder achieved respectable places in the Junior BII.

The youth work in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania provides a breath of fresh air and promising prospects for young talents who are starting the future of speedway sport with full energy. With dedicated trainers and a growing network of events and competitions, the course for the 2026 season has already been set. Northern Courier reports on the promising prospects, while also the ADAC provides important information for prospective drivers in order to be optimally prepared for the challenges ahead.
