Creative minds show friendship: student art in Hagenow inspires!
There's something happening in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania - from art to music to festive events. Advent brings numerous highlights that you shouldn't miss. Today, December 6, 2025, we take a look at the most exciting events in the coming week.
Let's start with that 28th student art exhibition in the Old Synagogue Hagenow, which opened on November 6th and is on view until March 1st, 2026. Under the motto “Friendship”, children and young people from all Hagenow schools show their works - from pictures to fascinating objects that illuminate the topic in different ways. A visit is not only recommended for art lovers, but also a great way to support the creativity of the young generation.
Colorful events are coming up
Things get really festive and entertaining on December 11th. In Schwerin, the duo Gina Colada and Glinda Glanz bring glamor and music to the warehouse with their drag show “Gina & Glinda – in the Winter Wonderland”. At 8 p.m. guests can enjoy live singing, humor and winter melodies. This is just the thing to get into the Christmas spirit!
At the same time, the book premiere of Astrid Kloock's new work "Wolf Spillner, a Nature Storyteller" will take place at CampHus Ludwigslust - also on December 11th at 6 p.m. You can immerse yourself in the world of storytelling during a reading with a delicious snack. The entry fee of 15 euros is a small investment in a relaxing evening.
At 8 p.m. the doors of the Wichernsaal in Schwerin open for another highlight: Dirk Audehm and Lemmi Lembcke present their stage program under the motto “Christmas is definitely coming in 2025!” That sounds like an evening full of fun and good entertainment.
Christmas markets and festivities
In the following week, the Advent events are all about anticipation. The Ludwigslust Castle Christmas takes place on December 13th and 14th. Here you can look forward to market stalls, a family tour, puppet shows and an atmospheric Christmas concert on the grassy ground floor behind the castle from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. A good reason to fully enjoy the festive spirit!
There will also be an exciting combination of party and live music at the Advent dance with “Mashed Potatoes” in Schwerin on December 12th, from 8 p.m. in Speicher. The candlelight concert evening in the Ludwigslust town hall promises a special atmosphere with the “Ludovico Einaudi Tribute by Candlelight” from 7 p.m. And if you want to use the pre-Christmas period to feast, you should visit the family Christmas market on December 13th in Redefin - there are craft stations and pony rides for the little ones!
Last but not least, for fans of classical music: On December 13th, the International Festival Ballet in Schwerin will present the popular performance of “Swan Lake”. Dance art at the highest level is offered here!
All of this is just a small foretaste of what is to come in the region. At times when community spirit and the joy of being together are particularly important, these events invite people to come together and enjoy the festive season. Visit the events, get inspired and experience how colorful Advent can be in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania!
For those interested in technology, there will be the event "Try me! - AI demonstrators for medium-sized businesses" in Ludwigslust on December 9th, where insights into the world of artificial intelligence will be given free of charge and without any prior knowledge - an exciting topic that also arouses great interest.
