Collective bargaining agreement: More money and better training remuneration for everyone!
Something is happening in the tariff landscape in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania! Loud IG BAU Employees in the concrete and precast concrete industry are happy about a new collective agreement. From July 2025, a one-off payment of 75 euros gross will be paid out. However, that is just the beginning: From August 1, 2025, there will be an additional 75 euros gross per month for higher incomes, before a surcharge of 150 euros gross per year will be added for vacation pay from January 1, 2026.
The improvements continue: From May 1, 2026, companies will pay 115 euros gross per month more. The training allowances will also be doubled: a surcharge of 50 euros gross per month will be granted for all years of training from July 2025 and July 2026. This is great news for all aspiring professionals!
Collective bargaining round and progress
Overall, the collective agreement will run for 24 months and is not just about more money. A crucial point that IG BAU emphasizes is the reduction in the gap to the Hessian corner wages: the gap in the Middle East tariff area falls from 2.33 euros/hour to 1.21 euros/hour. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania the difference will now only be 1.35 euros/hour. This makes the region more attractive for workers.
After this collective bargaining round, new negotiations on the pay table and the classification descriptions are also planned. In addition, a working group will be set up to develop a tariff path for east-west alignment, which primarily affects the stone and earth industry in Hesse.
Focus on income and training remuneration
“The collective agreements in the metal and electrical industries not only secure income, but also increase training remuneration,” reports IG Metall Frankfurt. For example, the training allowance will be increased by 140 euros from January 2025 and by a further 3.1 percent from April 2026. This is a good signal for many young people.
But that's not all: from April 2025, wages will rise by 2 percent and by 3.1 percent in the following year. In addition, a one-off payment of 600 euros will be due by February 2025 and the options for part-time employees will be improved. More free time instead of more money – a real benefit for many.
