Gitta Lindemann: Reading in the Stargard Castle about life and memories

Burg Stargard, Deutschland - On July 17, 2025, there will be a special literary evening in the historic chapel on the Höhenburg in Stargard. Gitta Lindemann, the mother of the well-known Rammstein front man Till Lindemann, will be together with Prof. Dr. Read Carsten Gansel from her newly published book "My window places". This reading promises to become an emotional experience, because the book contains profound personal memories that Gitta Lindemann recorded in her diary entries from the early 1990s.

gitta Lindemann, born in 1939, looks back on a moving biography. Born in Dresden, she studied journalism in Leipzig from 1957 to 1962. From 1969 to 1974 she led her professional career to the Radio GDR in the Neubrandenburg studio and later to Radio Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, where she became editor-in-chief in 1990. She currently lives in Wendisch-Rambow, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

a look into the past

Your book "My window places" not only addresses her personal life, but also gives a look at the challenges of the turning years. Gitta Lindemann describes her experiences as "madness" and reflects on the uncertainty and changes in the GDR. "I wrote diary over the turning years, the time was shaped by permanent tensions and the dissolution of the national ends," she reported. In her memories, she also mentions Christa Wolf, who was a haven of rest, in the middle of the political chaos.

The stories she tells in her book are not only a kind of declaration of love for her son Till, but also a personal confession about her lies and the moments of pausing. Her favorite “window square” was the view of the garden from her house in Drispeth, where she often came to rest and could reflect. "For me, window places are places of calm and reflection," says Lindemann.

reading and tickets

The reading on July 17th begins at 6 p.m., and the tickets cost € 10.00. These can be purchased in advance in the tourist information at the castle, in the Stargard City Library and at the box office. The adventure evening promises not only to be literary, but also to dive deeply into the emotions and memories of an entire generation.

gitta Lindemann, who, among other things, moderated the series "Literates in the cross -relationship" and the "literary café" and contributed significantly to the cultural landscape in the region, will make their stories and experiences alive that evening.

Your current work is a collection of thoughts and memories in which social conflicts and uncertainties are discussed, and is supplemented by the artist Rosa Loy with impressive pictures. "Culture is not just something for supposed spinners," she says, and so she invites her audience to share her views.
