There was an exciting flood of football action in the Walter Block Stadium in Malchin on Sunday, July 9, 2025: The Edis Cup, a highlight for youth football, took place under the best conditions. The energy company Edis, a long-time supporter of FSV Malchin's youth work, provided the basis for an unforgettable tournament without alcohol. Ten teams fought for victory in thrilling matches, and the regional league teams showed that they can be at the forefront.
The hosts, FSV Malchin in red uniform, left no doubt as to who was in charge of the game. In the first game they defeated Güstrower SC 2-1 and thus laid the foundation for their triumphant tournament run. They also proved their skills in the second game against Traktor Dargun and won 2-0. The crowning achievement came in the last game, where FSV Malchin won 3-1 against SV Teterow 90 and secured first place undefeated. Goalkeeper Quinn Budniak crowned the match with her goal for the final score.

The Edis Cup has developed into an important event in youth football in recent years. Last year the tournament took place in the Uckermark, where the metropolitan region talent team was able to collect the most points and win. A total of 11 teams showed their skills in a variety of exciting preliminary round duels, with the Dargun team impressively winning in the semi-finals. It is obvious that there is a lot going on in the youth sector and the teams are working diligently on their skills in order to be well prepared for the next tournament, as can be read on the FSV Malchin website.
