Last Tuesday evening, the guest's house in Malchow was transformed into a true concert paradise. Nordkurier reports about 200 guests who accepted the invitation of the Neue Philharmonie MV. Under the artistic direction of Andreas Schulz, those present experienced an unforgettable evening.
The event began with a new version of the musical fairy tale “Peter and the Wolf” by Sergei Prokofiev. Lutz Schumacher, the CEO of the Nordkurier media group, took over as narrator and knew how to interpret the story vividly for an adult audience. Here he took on the role of an older man who relives in his mind the adventures of the boy Peter and his fight against the wolf.
A creative interplay of music and narrative
The creative redistribution of the characters gave the performance a breath of fresh air. The neighbor girl Fritzi took on the role of the lively little bird, while Ms. Schindelhuber was seen as a waddling duck. The musicians of the Neue Philharmonie skillfully accompanied Schumacher's story with Prokofiev's timeless music, which enjoys great popularity and inspires generations.
The first musical highlight of the evening was the Symphony No. 1 in D major, Op. 25, also known as “The Classic,” which Prokofiev composed as a youth work. With her elegant combination of classical form and modern freshness, she delivered an effervescent orchestral work that was extremely well received by the listeners. The second part was Mozart's Haffner Symphony, which impressively showcased the young composer's genius.
An evening full of enthusiasm
The combination of stirring music and appealing storytelling created immense enthusiasm in the audience, who loudly applauded the artists. The positive atmosphere and the reactions of those present left no doubt that the evening was a complete success.
