Attention vinyl fans: new record store Drehmoment” in Neustrelitz!
A long-cherished wish is coming true in Neustrelitz: On August 28th, the new record store “Drehmoment” will open at Glambecker Straße 4. The operators Christoph Drews and Christoph Heckel, both enthusiastic vinyl collectors, not only want to sell records here, but also create a meeting place. “Drehmoment” starts as a pop-up shop and will initially be open for a month, supported by the Neustrelitz Cultural Council and the city manager.
The idea for this special project came about last fall over a cozy beer between friends. Christoph Drews, who works as an architect, and Christoph Heckel, who works in the theater, want to create a cultural project with their record shop that goes beyond just selling records. “It means a lot to us to revive the memory of old record stores like Glawe’s Record Store,” explains Drews. The nostalgic charm of vinyl records and the analogue listening experience are the focus for both of them.
A diverse range for every musical taste
In the “Dremoment” range, music lovers will find over 1,000 records from friends, relatives and digital sales platforms. The offering includes a colorful mix of classical music, hits, rock and pop, especially from the 60s, 70s and 80s. The operators have attached great importance to ensuring that there are no repetitions - you won't find Karel Gott 20 times on offer.
Special events are also planned during the opening, including workshops and musical performances. Special highlights await visitors on September 13th at the Art and Shopping Night, where workshops for children and young people as well as discussions about music and records are offered. A nice gimmick will also be a film screening of “High Fidelity” in the cinema of the old tiled stove factory.
A new home for vinyl lovers
The operators also invite you to hand in plates that are no longer needed. These donations can be organized through the cultural advisory board, which can be reached at 03981-203145. The call for donations of record players was also launched in order to equip the store in the best possible way. Registration for various workshops, e.g. DJ and video mapping are also possible and offer a great opportunity for music enthusiasts.
“Torque” shouldn’t just be about selling records; It also creates an atmosphere that is creative and inspiring. Opening hours are daily from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and you can get a good idea of the music history by browsing the shelves. This is not only trendy, but is essential for the city's musical culture - a clear response to the decline of classic record stores as a result of streaming services and CDs.
For anyone who is passionate about the analog experience, a visit to the new record store in Neustrelitz is a must - a true paradise for vinyl lovers that has something to offer for every taste. Don't miss the chance to become part of this special project and immerse yourself in the world of records!
