On July 13, 2025, the bathing area at Inselsee in Güstrow will be transformed into a center of celebration and community commitment to water protection. The eagerly awaited family festival with the highlight, the Big Jump, invites young and old to an unforgettable day. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. there will be a colorful program that not only entertains, but also informs and raises awareness.
The event will be accompanied musically by Olaf Niemann, the DJ and presenter from Ostseewelle, while Olaf Hobrlant will ensure the right atmosphere live. The Güstrow Volunteer Fire Department introduces visitors to exciting hands-on activities such as can shooting and water pinball. The MV wildlife park is also represented with activities, while the local water sports clubs have offers. Here it becomes clear that the fun knows no limits and everyone gets their money's worth.
A leap for water protection
A central point of the festival is undoubtedly the Big Jump, which takes place at 11:00 a.m. This is a Europe-wide campaign in which people jump into bodies of water at the same time to set an example for water protection. Güstrow's Mayor Sascha Zimmermann and Environment Minister Dr. Till Backhaus will take part in this symbolic jump and underline the importance of water protection. The campaign was initiated by the State Office for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Geology MV (LUNG MV), which also provides information on water protection on this day.
The event has set itself the ambitious goal of both promoting fun and raising awareness of the issue of water protection. Admission to the festival is free, so nothing stands in the way of a family outing.
Culinary delicacies and informative stands
In addition to the extensive entertainment program, visitors can also enjoy culinary delicacies. DasStudioZwei, the beach house and a cake bazaar, organized by the Initiative Güstrow 2028 e.V. association, provide for physical well-being. V. and the Güstrow Carneval Club. There will be no shortage of choice here - from savory snacks to sweet temptations.
