The coming weeks should be exciting for Dargun! The city has transferred responsibility for this year's castle spectacle to the Neukalen discotheque. As the SVZ reported, the spectacle will begin on the first weekend in August, more precisely on Sunday, August 3rd, at 10 a.m. Citizens and visitors can look forward to a colorful program with numerous attractions and retailers.
Mayor Jana Böttcher announced in March that the city would like to say goodbye to organizing the spectacle in the future, which primarily brings with it a financial advantage. The event incurred costs of 20,000 euros annually, which have now been eliminated. A third-party provider is hired without incurring any additional costs to the city. Admission to the evening party and the spectacle remains free - one more reason not to miss the event!
From 80s parties to live acts
The spectacle begins the evening before with a party that celebrates hits from the 1980s and 90s. If you're in the mood for nostalgia, you should definitely stop by here. But the Neukalen discotheque has even more in store: On July 19, 2025, another highlight, the “Time Travel OpenAir,” will take place in the Dargun castle ruins. From 8 p.m., guests can dance to live performances by artists such as LEO, EIKO and the DUO DISCO, while the best hits of the last few decades, from Disco Fox to Deutscher Schlager, will alternate in the party tent.
An absolute highlight is the live performance by The Beatz at 10:30 p.m., which is sure to make the dance floor shake. Tickets are on sale in advance at Time travel25 available, but also at the city information center in Demmin and in the Zingelmann bakery in Neukalen. The prices for advance tickets are around 11.83 euros.
Arrival and parking options
Very important for anyone traveling by car: Parking options are limited! Visitors have to be prepared for a longer walk to the monastery and palace complex. Parking spaces are signposted next to the caravan parking space at the entrance to the lido. Parking spaces at the museum can also be used, although these are likely to fill up quickly. If you get there early, you can secure one of the coveted spots!
