Completion for food industry: employees receive 6% more!

Ludwigslust-Parchim, Deutschland - In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, a new agreement between employers and the NGG union ensures a wage thrust in the food industry. This decision comes after intensive negotiations and demands a lot of patience from the employees. At the latest now it turns out that the use for better working conditions really pays off.

Overall, employees benefit from seven large -scale companies in the country, including well -known companies such as Nestlé and Dr. Oetker. The tariff degree provides a gradual increase in wages by a good six percent, spread over three stages. From November 1, 2023, the first wage increase will be effective, followed by further increases in the coming year. This progress is particularly gratifying after the NGG has called for warning strikes several times in the past, among others in the Lübz brewery and the Schwerin Nestlé plant.

This brings the new collective agreement

With the new collective agreement, which has a term of 24 months, the vacation rates for employees also rise: from ten euros the money climbs to almost 16 euros. Apprentices are also not neglected. You can look forward to a monthly increase of 75 euros from the beginning of June. There is also a free day to prepare for the final exam.

But wages are not just an issue. A union spokesman indicated that the compromise was painful for both sides. The effects of the scissors between Eastern and west wages remain a critical point. The NGG has also clearly criticized that employers in the east tend to fix the low -wage, which cannot be a solution for the future.

But here too, the support for trainees does not leave something to be desired. You are not only increased by 200 euros a month, but also get an additional day off to prepare for the final exam. Employees who work in the milk processing industry can therefore look forward to noticeable improvements. Around 7,000 workers in the industry will benefit directly from these innovations.

The increase affects numerous companies that work with various dairy products in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. The companies include the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania central cheese dairy in Dargun and Müritz Milch GmbH. The standards that are set here could affect the entire industry and thus also ensure positive developments in other areas.

Both collective agreements therefore provide impulses for the region. It remains to be seen that these progress not only remain a unique event, but also the prelude to a more comprehensive discussion about fair wages and working conditions in eastern Germany.
