SV Siedenbollentin: From underdog to national champion and promotion to the top league!

In a warm atmosphere, SV Siedenbollentin, a small club from a community with only 580 inhabitants, celebrates the greatest success in its history: promotion to the top football league and winning the association league title. On June 15, 2025, there was great joy when the team triumphed with a clear 2-0 win against MSV Pampow on the last matchday of the association league.

With this decisive victory, Siedenbollentin overtook the Torgelow/Ueckermünde game association, which only managed a 0-0 draw against 1. FC Neubrandenburg. As a result, Torgelow/Ueckermünde lost their previous place in the table. This turn of events secured Siedenbollentin's place at the top of the association league, and promotion to the fifth-tier league was perfect. This league is well-known in Germany and is considered an important amateur league for many clubs.

A year full of emotions

For coach Christoph Haker, promotion is the culmination of a long journey. He said with pride that the entire team had worked hard for this success. The road there wasn't easy, but the past games, especially the 2-1 win against FC Förderkader Rostock on the penultimate matchday, have shown that the team has the necessary maturity and determination. Jan Jakub Klimko scored the decisive goal in added time at a home game in front of around 250 enthusiastic spectators.

“We have shown the league in the last few weeks that we are a serious opponent,” said Haker. And indeed, SV Siedenbollentin has reached a milestone with this promotion that makes both the players and the entire community celebrate. This brand will go down in the club's history books and will be remembered by fans for a long time.

The league at a glance

The Oberliga, the fifth-tier league in German football, has an eventful history. It has been shaped by many clubs and players since 1945, when the first league was founded in the western part of what was then the Federal Republic of Germany. The league has developed over the years and is now an important stepping stone for talent who want to make their way to higher leagues. Siedenbollentin will now compete in this exciting league with other committed teams, which will represent a new challenge.

A return to regional football drama could offer new adventures for the club and its supporters, and they are more than ready to embrace it. The best goalscorer report of the season came from Fatlind Memaj from Torgelow/Ueckermünde, who attracted attention with 29 goals and impressively outperformed the competition.

With this championship and promotion to the top league, SV Siedenbollentin now has the opportunity to develop further and shine at the heights of football in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania - and that is certainly an exciting prospect for all football fans.
