Madness in the field: 800 HP tractor pulls brake vans in Upahl!

What's going on in Northwest Mecklenburg? A special kind of spectacle is just around the corner: the third tractor trek by the Kreihnsdörp pulling team will make the hearts of tractor lovers beat faster. Things will get really busy in the field near Upahl on June 29th and 30th, 2025. Hundreds of visitors are expected to look forward to a thrilling event in which tractors compete with a multi-ton brake van.

PS professionals like Michael Reske from the Senske tractor forge are taking part. He brings an impressive 800 hp car into the race. Reske's experience extends to Philadelphia, where he was already active in pulling competitions in 2013. He gets support from Dieter Eckert, the event's experienced speaker, who as a master baker has been moderating the event for decades and delights the fans with his charm.

Excitement among the offspring

It will be particularly exciting for the younger participants. Nine-year-old Mia Lopens from Walsmühlen will be at the start with her 30 hp tractor as part of the pulling team from Goddin, which is competing with a total of eight tractors. The passion for tractors is passed on from generation to generation here, and this can also be seen with engine specialist Maik Schwerin from Moltow, who converted a 55 hp MTS 50 Belarus to 800 hp with a turbocharger from a diesel locomotive.

Organizer Eric Frahm is enthusiastic about the positive development of the event. "The weather was great and the mood among the visitors was simply fantastic. The support from sponsors and helpers was also outstanding," he sums up.

More tractor pulling highlights

But there are not only tractor pulling events in Upahl. An event will take place in Wadersloh on September 10, 2023, with numerous activities. Only in the years 2018 to 2023 did the enthusiasm for these events increase significantly, when around 160 tractors and some self-propelled harvesters were at the start at the premiere. The last event in Wadersloh attracted almost 2,000 visitors and offers a colorful supporting program ranging from a classic car exhibition to children's entertainment. The local government has given the green light and the majority of the net proceeds are earmarked for charitable purposes. Anyone who is interested can register now via email.

Fans can also look forward to a variety of other tractor pulling events in the region. Events are planned, for example, in Füchtorf, Anholt, and Volkmarst in the coming months. An overview of all dates can be found on the websites of the respective organizers, where tickets are also available in advance and are sold at the box office on the day.

All that remains to say is that anyone who is interested in gray machines and brute horsepower should not miss the upcoming tractor pulling events. A real celebration for the whole family awaits all visitors!
