Berlin couple discovers happiness: dream lock in Mecklenburg acquired!

Kaeselow, Deutschland - What drives a few from the pulsating capital Berlin to swap the city noise for idyllic life in the country? This is exactly what Claudia Steinlechner and Vincent Grundke happened. After many years in the big city, where Vincent lived 13 years and Claudia for 10 years, they broke off their tents and secured a piece of paradise in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Her new home: the historic Kaeselow Castle, which was built in 1860 and had previously been lovingly cared for by Gerd-Rainer Hienstorfer for 30 years. As the Ostsee newspaper reports, they did not look long and became aware of the manor house by a brokerage display and immediately fell in love with the system.

move to the calm of nature

In November 2024 the time had come: the move to Kaeselow Castle, deep in the nature between Gadebusch and Schwerin. With an impressive living space of 740 square meters and an extensive property of 22,000 square meters, which comprises a historic castle park with an adjacent forest, the entire property offers plenty of space to relax. Surrounded by old chestnuts and an adjacent castle lake, which is waiting for a renaturation, it is the perfect retreat for the creative couple. "There is something", the two could say themselves if they are surrounded by the freely run around chickens and geese in the castle park that enliven the area.

wedding plans and cultural ambitions

Another reason for your return to the idyll: You have planned your wedding in Kaeselow Castle for autumn 2025. With their upcoming celebration, they not only want to start a new phase of life, but also to transform the castle into a cultural center. In addition to holiday apartments, concerts, exhibitions and a day of open gardens on September 13th and 14th as well as a midsummer memise on June 21st and 22nd are being planned. Full of anticipation, they hope that their new home can act again as a branch of the registry office, as it was once the case.

The two report that they now enjoy the life they always wanted. Despite her stressful working life- Claudia in a PR agency and Vincent as an independent video and photographer- you always look for peace in the castle. "When you are often on the go, you always look forward to returning to this trace," says the couple.

Explore a piece of history

The exciting history of the castle goes back to the von Oertzen family, which has been owned by the property since 1878 before it was expropriated in 1945. The property has been looked after by Gerd-Rainer Hienstorfer since 1992 before it was sold to Claudia and Vincent in 2022. With every step of the renovation, the couple would like to honor and maintain the architecture built by Privy Councilor Heinrich von Brock in the style of the Tudorgotic.

The castle is not only its new home, but also a place where contacts are to be linked and culture is to be promoted. The future plans seem promising, and the two are ready to make the castle a popular destination for the Northwest Mecklenburg region. Perhaps one or the other celebration of a very special kind will also take place there. And while her hearts beat for the castle, it will be shown which magical moments you will experience together here.
