1.5 million euros for cultural projects in the Demmin region!

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania there are exciting news for the Demmin region: The federal cultural foundation has provided an impressive 1.5 million euros to enrich the cultural landscape. These funding comes from the federal program "All.land", which supports a large number of initiatives to strengthen rural areas. The main focus is on the project "Culture for everyone in Dreigstrom.Land", which is committed to the cultural school in Malchin, among other things. The aim is to create new places of life and cultural locations and to promote the sense of community on site. It should be emphasized particularly positively that both the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the municipality each participate in the financing with ten percent, which underlines the local reference and commitment, so [Tagesschau] (https://www.tagesschau.de/inland/mecklenburgvorpommern/bund-foert-projekte-rund-emmin ,Mvregioneubioneubrandenburg-154.html).

But what is actually behind the program "Aller.Land"? It was launched to promote rural, structurally weak regions in Germany over a period of six years. The focus here is on cultural, artistic and creative projects that are intended to strengthen the coexistence and democracy through citizen participation. Nationwide, more than 90 regions are involved, including four from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Gadebusch and the districts of Vorpommern-Greifswald North and Mitte, Lübz-Plau am See-Goldberg and Rügen. This broad spectrum of regions shows how important the cultural exchange and cooperation are at the local level explains Kultur MV.

variety of funding opportunities

The program is currently looking for up to 40 “process companions” that are intended to support the regions in concept development. These process attendants are required to have extensive skills in the areas of coaching, advice, moderation and project management. This ensures that the projects are not only creative and innovative, but can also be implemented sustainably.

The interesting thing about the story is that the support program is divided into two phases. Initially, from 2024 to mid -2025 there will be development funding of up to 40,000 euros per region. From 2025 it will be serious: up to 1.5 million euros per region are available to concrete implement the concepts developed. The total budget of 69.4 million euros, which is scheduled for 2023 to 2030, is supplemented by co-finance from the relevant regions, as reports [https://kulturstaatsmin minister.de/kunst-und-kulturfoerung/kultur-in-laendliche-raeumen).

cultural impulses for rural areas

This program is more than just financial support. It offers a platform for committed people who want to actively shape their living environment. Whether independent projects or bourgeois initiatives - everyone can contribute to promoting cultural diversity in rural areas and thus also contributing to strengthening democracy. The response of the first phase shows that 97 regions already took part in this initiative in 2024 to develop viable concepts.

With these fresh impulses from the "Aller.Land" program, a new cultural section could be heralded in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, which not only linked the communities, but also represents a positive signal for the entire region.
