Kentzlin celebrates: 725 years of village history with a big parade!

On Saturday, June 17, 2025, the small village of Alt Kentzlin celebrated a very special festival: it celebrated *its 725th birthday *. The place, which was first mentioned on June 2, 1300, has a lot of history to tell. The parade, which was officially opened at 1 p.m., was the highlight of the celebrations and attracted numerous visitors.

A small tractor with a colorful trailer opened the move, followed by a variety of participants. The Kentzlin-Lindenberg volunteer fire brigade was there, as was the mayor Reinhard Schumacher, who mingled with the costumed villagers. The sheep and hunter Jürgen Schülke with his loyal hunting dog were a very special highlight. The perfectly decorated tractors and the cheerful residents made the picture perfect and ensured a festive atmosphere.

Historical professions were presented during the move. A blacksmith smithed on his field smithy, while a fisherman created a nostalgic mood with his boat and a lovingly staged decorative fish. Carnivalists from the Lindenberger Carneval Club were also seen on the streets. Historical agricultural technology was presented on one of the followers and ensured amazed faces.

At the end of the move, the modern truck of the mobile cheese dairy Kentzlin moved through the streets. Many villagers stood on the side of the road, watched and held the happy moments with their cameras.

In the parish hall, a photo exhibition on the history of Alt Kentzlins was shown. In his speech, Mayor Schumacher recalled the development of the village, which over the centuries survived both wars and was able to experience a change from a permanent castle under the family from Voß to a Prussian domain. After the ground reform in 1945, the lands were divided, which represented a deep incision.

The festival program offered numerous entertainment options for young and old. In the evening, DJs took over the direction and provided rousing dance music in the marquee.

The income achieved by the cake sale flow directly into the purchase of new play equipment for the local playgrounds. The village not only shows how lively and future -oriented it is, but also how much the residents their community is concerned.

The Gutshaus Alt Kentzlin, built between 1823 and 1825, symbolizes the valuable history of the place. This beautiful half -timbered house is an excellent example of the architectural style of the 19th century and is kept with a lot of dedication by the villagers. According to Gutshaeuser.de, the creation of historical oaks and an old military hill is surrounded, which contribute to the preservation of the cultural identity of the village.
