Life -saving blood donation: Come on July 17th after Demmin!

Neuer Weg 6, 17109 Demmin, Deutschland - In the Hanseatic city of Demmin, donations can be returned on Thursday, July 17th! From 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the DRK blood donation service invites you to the DRK social center, Neuer Weg 6. The aim of this action is to win lifesaver - because a single donation of blood can help up to three people, be it victims of the accident or patients in critical medical situations. In view of the daily needs of around 350 blood preparations in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, this is an important contribution to the health of the community. As the Nordkurier reports, the willingness to donate in the summer months is often affected by vacation trips.

It is not only important, but also simply to participate that day. In order to be able to participate in the blood donation, some conditions have to be met: blood donors should be at least 18 years old, have a body weight of at least 50 kg and observe the requirements for donation. Women can donate four times a year with a minimum of eight weeks between the donations. Before the big moment, it is advisable to drink enough and eat a little something. The reservation of an appointment via the Internet or the blood donation app is also recommended to minimize waiting times.

The call for blood donation

worldwide, the blood donation day is celebrated under the motto #MissingType in order to draw attention to the importance of this life rescue. Around 15,000 blood donations are required in Germany every day. But it is becoming increasingly difficult to find enough donors because around 100,000 active blood donors are eliminated annually, be it because of age or illness. The DRK blood donation service emphasizes that the lack of blood groups A, B, from and 0 can lead to critical situations in clinics. Because blood preparations often only have a limited shelf life, sometimes only a few days, which makes the willingness to donate of the greatest importance. A call, which the DRK website is also under drk.de spread.

In Germany, only around 3 % of the population are blood donors. This shows the need to raise awareness of the importance of the blood donation. Furthermore, 20 % of all blood preparations on patients with tumor diseases are eliminated, which underlines the urgency of the blood donation. Therefore, education and information are crucial in order to reduce any fears and uncertainties about the tolerance of the donation. The Paul-Ehrlich-Institut (PEI) regularly publishes reports on transfusions and blood preparations that illustrate the requirements and challenges in blood donation bloodspende.de.

Take the opportunity and become a lifegian! Every bit counts, and their blood donation can save lives at the crucial moment.
