Magical island Christmas in Mirow: Advent market enchants visitors!
The pre-Christmas season brings joy and contemplation, and this year the “Mirow Island Christmas” on December 6th on the castle island in Mirow will be a very special celebration. Between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m., the castle island is transformed into an Advent dream with glittering lights, musical accompaniment and seductive Christmas scents. Visitors can look forward to a varied offering, ranging from handicrafts to puppet theater. Traders will present their handcrafted and sewn treasures, while the puppet theater in the castle will bring numerous stories to life for audiences of all ages from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. A very special highlight will be Santa Claus' visit to the market square at 3 p.m.
The performance of the “Rainbow” elementary school choir will provide musical accents and will warm the hearts of visitors with its Christmas choral songs. The market also leaves nothing to be desired in terms of cuisine: whether it's savory or sweet food, warm and cold drinks - there's something for every taste. The combination of festive sounds, artistic expression and delicate dishes creates an atmosphere that invites you to linger. Festive market atmosphere in the Schießlhof
But the anticipation of Christmas is also very important in the Schwandorf region. On December 16th, the Advent market in the Schießlhof invites all visitors from 3 p.m. Organized by the Neukirchner associations under the leadership of former mayor Wolfgang Probst, the inner courtyard is atmospherically prepared for the market with stalls and fire ovens. An impressively decorated Christmas tree will put visitors in a festive mood.
The culinary offering is impressive: mulled wine, Jagatee, sausages, potato spirals, fried rolls, Langosch, waffles and cookies are just some of the delicacies that await guests here. The kindergarten children from St. Anna and the “Forest Frogs” from the forest kindergarten kick off the market with a dance of lights and festive songs. An interactive element offers young guests the opportunity to get active with crafts or take part in a prize puzzle, the winners of which will be drawn at 9 p.m.
Another highlight is Santa Claus, who will set up a golden Christmas post office in the Schießlhof, where he will distribute sweets and receive wish lists. The Neukirchner artisans will also offer their wares in the historic vaulted stable. Mayor Markus Dauch is pleased about the support of the municipal building yard for the Christmas market and hopes for numerous visitors who will be carried away by the festive atmosphere.
