Anklam's young footballers shine at the Edis Cup despite the challenges!
The Anklamer DI youth gained valuable experience at this year's FSV Malchin Edis Cup. Despite the strong competition that challenged the young kickers against older and physically superior teams, they were able to show respectable performances. With three draws and three defeats, they ultimately finished the tournament in sixth place. Coach Reinhard Lüdemann was proud of his team and praised the team's unified performance, especially since many players in this configuration were playing together for the first time.
The experienced kickers such as Emil Peter, Carlo Lenz and Anton Lohmann were able to provide important impetus. Anton Lohmann was particularly outstanding, being the team's top goalscorer with five goals. He was supported by the newcomers Ben Wollenburg, Lukas Schmidtinger, Luis Denz and Carlo Gransow, who stood out positively for their commitment. The tournament winner was the first team of FSV Malchin, followed by teams like Güstrower SC and SV Traktor Dargun.
The sporting breadth in Anklam
But Anklam doesn't just value youth work in football. The VFC Anklam athletics department offers a comprehensive program for children and young people. Not only is the basis for various sports laid here, but health is also promoted. The diverse movement patterns of athletics help children develop in a playful environment. Recreational and competitive sports go hand in hand, and values such as tolerance and fair play have a high priority in the club.
With a variety of disciplines, the department reflects the diversity of athletics, so that anyone interested in sports will find a suitable home.
The importance of children and youth sports
In the current context of children's and youth sports, great diversity is important. According to the third German children and youth sports report, the focus is not only on competitiveness, but also on the personal development of young athletes. Promoting social skills and team spirit is essential these days. The report also highlights the current challenges and developments in the field of children's and youth sports, which are of great importance for coaches and clubs.
It is all the more important that local clubs like VFC Anklam and FSV Malchin uphold this communal spirit of support and development. The Anklam football youth team and the athletics department are well on their way to shaping the next generations not only athletically but also personally. This gives young people the chance to prove themselves on and off the pitch.
Overall, it shows that Anklam has a lively and committed sports community in both football and athletics that always strives to do its best and gain valuable experience.
