Tension in the sand: The 12th Beach Cup Binz attracts the top teams!

At the weekend it gets really sporty in the Baltic Sea resort of Binz on Rügen. The 12. Beachcup binz takes place and promises exciting matches in beach volleyball. The event, which is organized by SV Warnemünde, not only attracts local teams, but also many participants from northern Germany and especially from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. A total of 31 women and 44 men's teams have registered, which will compete in two different performance classes.

The tournament is carried out in season mode, followed by a KO system, which ensures additional thrills. The spectators can look forward to a spectacular weekend on Saturday, June 20, 2025, and will reach its peak on Sunday, June 21st. The finals are scheduled for Sunday afternoon from around 2 p.m. and end at around 5 p.m., so the fans have the opportunity to experience concentrated beach volleyball action.

The favorites in the women's area are clear: Anna and Laura Kurtze from SV Warnemünde have already established themselves as winners of the beach volleyball championships in 2024 in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. A very special name stands out for the men: Axel Hager, who starts with his son Jakob Hager. Axel, bronze medalist at the 2000 Olympics, brings a lot of experience and talent.

For women, the team led by Melanie Gernert, who was able to win the German Vice Championship in 2017. It remains exciting whether the favorites can meet their expectations or whether there will be one or two surprises for the audience.
