New residential area and Störtebeker Premiere: Stralsund in focus!

The Hanseatic city of Stralsund and its surroundings are currently experiencing exciting developments that affect both housing and cultural life. A new residential area between Stralsund and Grimmen, specifically in Ahrendsee near Sundhagen, takes on forms. A very fresh development plan was decided, which enables the construction of eight single -family houses and a semi -detached house on generous land. The aim is to create new living space in rural areas and at the same time maintain the village character, such as the Ostsee-Zeitung

Another exciting point in the region is the modernization of the Kupfermühle stadium. A new artificial turf in the multi -purpose sports field was laid here, and the project, which took over 3 million euros in funding, is to be used from June 30th. The official inauguration is planned for September. This measure improves the sporting conditions for schools and clubs, which is particularly important for young talents in the region. Despite some unexpected problems, the work has now been completed.

cultural highlights: Störtebeker Festival

Another highlight is just around the corner: On June 28, the Störtebeker Festival celebrated their premiere with the new piece "Fure Deters of the Seas" in Ralswiek. Moritz Stephan and Alexander Hanfland slip into the roles of the well -known characters Klaus Störtebeker and Goedeke Michels. Preparations are already in full swing, because the rehearsals started a few days ago. Visitors are invited to bring a rain cape with you, since rainwirts are not allowed for insurance reasons, such as ndr reported.

The scenes for the piece are spectacular and include a pub rotating by 180 degrees and an abbreviated roof structure. The fantastic scenery was designed by Robert Quaas, the head of the backdropper. Managing Director Anna Theresa Hick already speaks of a new cycle that is heralded with this performance. For the piece there have been over 160 small actors, including 60 children, and a team of riders with 20 riders and six stuntmen. Wolfgang Lippert will appear as a ballad singer. Another interesting aspect is the historical background: in 1400 25 pirates of the vital brothers were executed, and the history of the conflict between wealthy builders and nature -loving farmers runs through the action.

further developments in the region

But not only culturally, a lot is happening in the region. The sporting infrastructure also shows action. According to a report by the German Institute for Urban Studies, 59% of the municipalities state that the investment deficit in sports halls is serious. Over half of the municipalities ensure outdoor pools and indoor pools. The overall investment requirement is high as many sports facilities are energetic and technically dilapidated. In this context, the new initiatives in Stralsund could be a step in the right direction to improve the sporting conditions in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, such as the Study

and the local community is also active: The regional winners have been announced as part of the fire service OZ campaign/fire brigade heroine 2025. Almost 5000 votes were made, and the finalists are Tim Nahrstedt from the Kühlungsborn volunteer fire brigade, Anne Berner from the Kröslin fire brigade, Michael Homuth from the Hornstorf fire brigade and Gregor Wedig from the Nierspars fire brigade.

Overall, the region is currently in terms of optimism, with new residential projects, an improved sports environment and cultural highlights that will not only attract locals, but also visitors.
