New bus line to Sanitz and 36 cheap apartments in Greifswald!

A lot is happening in Greifswald: the city is looking forward to a new bus line, fresh apartments and a new kiosk offer. These developments stand for an upswing in the region and at the same time bring a fresh wind for the residents.

From September, bus line 320 between Greifswald and Sanitz will be reopened and leads via the transit points Tribsees and Grimmen. To a two -hour clock, passengers can count on a regular connection. Personnel and buses are ready, only the exact start date will be announced. The re -activation of this line, which has not been in operation for several years, is particularly positive for residents because it will significantly improve the connection to adjacent communities, such as the Ostsee-Zeitung reported.

New living opportunities on Hafenstraße

The Greifswald housing cooperative (WGG) brings fresh living space to the Hanseatic city: 36 new apartments are being built on Hafenstrasse, which will be rented for rent from 14 euros per square meter. With a total investment volume of over 10 million euros, the WGG intends to offer up to 1000 people a new home. The start of construction already has an effect, because so far around 30 applications have been received. Completion is planned for spring 2026 and is likely to defuse the tense housing market in Greifswald, says the Ostsee-Zeitung .

technological innovation and cultural events

The technology company "Elementarhy", which was recognized in Greifswald as "Europe's start-up of the year", also causes a stir. One of the driving forces behind the success is Zahra Nasri, an Iranian chemist who wants to seek and find equality in Greifswald. The city is obviously an inspiring place, because Nasri plans to stay and further expand its commitment.

The Christopher Street Day (CSD) also took place on the marketplace with around 950 participants last Saturday. This was the culmination of the "Days of Acceptance", which were organized by the Queer campaign alliance in Greifswald. The event shows the colorful and diverse life in Greifswald and creates a space for equality and openness.

The new kiosk offer

Another ray of hope is the opening of the new "Spiegelchen" kiosk on the shooting wall under the leadership of Svea Bohlscheid. This kiosk offers an appealing breakfast offer and creative lunchtime with a clear focus on vegan and vegetarian cuisine. Here visitors can look forward to a culinary discovery tour.

Those who are traveling in the region are welcomed with new mobility offers and opportunities for fresh living perspectives. From March 1, 2025, the digital VG card will also be used for pupils, which enables free transportation in the local buses, but say goodbye to the old paper formats. The Transport companies Greifswald offer comprehensive information for the application and use. The most important key data include:

  • d-ticket for trainees: 348 EUR annually, valid for local trains, trams and buses.
  • VG-Card for pupils: free of charge and valid around the clock in all bus lines.
  • The digital VG card will be valid from March 1, 2025, paper formats lose their validity.

Overall, it turns out: Greifswald has a lot to offer and with these initiatives is heading for a promising future. Let's be excited to see what the city will present to us in the coming years.
