In just a few days it will start with one of the greatest celebrations in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania! From June 20 to 22, 2025, Greifswald invites you to the 15th Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Day-a festival that not only celebrates the 775th anniversary of the city, but also trulies the 35-year history of the federal state. The Baltic Sea wave and numerous highlights ensure the best atmosphere for the opening party on June 20, which will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the market square in Greifswald. Admission is already from 6:00 p.m.

A colorful evening with great guests is on the program! The moderators Andrea Sparmann and Uwe "1.69 and a half" Worlitzer lead through the event, which is opened at 7:00 p.m. In a first speech by the Greifswald prevention association at 7:15 p.m., Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig is also expected at 8:15 p.m. Musically, it is really festive at 8:30 p.m. with the appearance of the Stargast Marquess, known for summer moods and Latin sounds. The evening is rounded off by the DJs Uwe Worlitzer and Jörg Scheffler, who provide dance and a good mood from 10 p.m.

On Saturday and Sunday, the blue light mile at the fairground at the Kaikante will be presented, with demonstrations by the Bundeswehr, police, fire brigade and many more. These presentations are moderated by Alexander Stuth and Stefan Haschler. The Prevention Association Greifswald, founded in 2000, is committed to important projects in the city through donations, especially from the MBH and administrative company mbH Greifswald (WVG).

The MV day also becomes a platform for cultural events. In addition to the known program items such as the Greifswald Bachwoche, the oldest music festival in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, which takes place from June 16 to 22, the Fête de la Musique will be celebrated in the old town on June 21.
