Anklam, Deutschland - Last weekend a noteworthy anniversary celebration was celebrated in Anklam: the Anklamer Tafel celebrated its 25th birthday. Since its foundation in September 2000 by members of the "North Aid for Women, Families and Seniors e. V." the team around Martina Ebert supported more than 250,000 people in need. The anniversary was duly celebrated with a colorful program of festivities, including a fire brigade appearance, a clown and a bouncy castle. Around 250 visitors did not miss the opportunity to congratulate the board and enjoy the happy mood.

"The first week of our board was overwhelming. Hundreds of customers visited us," says Martina Ebert, who has been retired for three years, but continues to continue their valuable work with full strength. As part of the celebrations, Mayor Michael Galander handed over a check for 580.71 euros, which should benefit the board.

The focus of the table is the collection of surplus and overproduced foods, which are then distributed to people in need. The work is supported by committed volunteers and people from labor promotion measures. Thanks to the financial aid of sponsors who provide food, money and donations in kind, the board remains in Anklam on the pulse of the time.

The community of the Anklamer Tafel comprises a group of senior citizens with currently 29 members and offers a wide range of events every month, including manual work, hiking and healthy eating. For special cases, home visits are also offered to request the needs of the seniors directly.
