Knight, fairy tales and music: Eldena monastery market enchants the Baltic Sea!

The monastery ruins Eldena in Western Pomerania offers a wonderful backdrop for the 10th Eldena monastery market on June 14th and 15th June 2025. When the weather is nice, this picturesque place is guaranteed to be a popular destination for families and day trippers on the Baltic Sea. On both days, art and craft lovers flock to the approximately 80 stands and stations that are built around the monastery ruins and the monastery barn. The offer ranges from herbal tea to homemade soaps to artistic forging and enchanting jewelry. There is something for everyone here!

The opening times vary on both days: on Saturday it will come to business from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., while Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. And the best? Entry to the market is free, but we recommend bringing some money for the participation offers, food and drinks. If you want to prove a good knack for archery or try the Ferris wheel, you should definitely take some change.

a colorful program for small and large

The program will be particularly varied on Saturday, where there are numerous interesting activities. Look forward to the fairytale period in the fairytale tent, which takes place at various times - including at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., accompanied by the narrator Beate Last. In addition, visitors can be there at 12 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at combat demonstrations and gun shows of the Slavs and Vikings. If you want to participate properly, you have the opportunity to show your talent in the "Wildlear" workshop in the afternoon.

Another highlight are the swords that take place at 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. If you prefer a little less action -packed entertainment, you can enjoy the Kasperletheater or participate in historical circles. The instrument show, which begins at 11.30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

a spiritual end on Sunday

Sunday traditionally begins with a service at 10 a.m., which is led by Pastor Johann Riedel. Then the market people move in at 11 a.m. and the festive atmosphere will be maintained by various program items. Again there are fairytale hours, Kasperletheater, Schauwertkärfe and numerous workshops that will inspire both the little ones and the adults. If you feel like it, you can also take part in the open arch tournament or participate in the historical circles.

Special attention is paid to the "knight's striptease" demonstration, a funny entertainment that will take care of many smiles. On both days, visitors can also expect a knight warehouse, where there are exciting insights into the life of warriors and craftsmen from the 13th and 14th centuries.
