Anklam, Deutschland - In Western Pomerania, the volunteer nature conservation manager, who looks after the seven sea eagle nest, has taken on an impressive task. These Horsten extend from Anklam to Lassan, directly on the mainland compared to the popular holiday island of Usedom. The protection of these majestic birds is carried out as part of a project by the Ministry of Climate Protection, Agriculture, Rural Areas and Environment Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, which is coordinated by the Staatliche Office for Agriculture and Environment (Stalu) Western and in Stralsund. The nature conservation manager is in close contact with the Lower Nature Conservation Authority of the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald in Anklam and with forester Gregor Borchert from the Jägerhof forestry office.

What exactly are the tasks of the nature conservation goda? Its main task is to protect the sea eagle areas from forest disorders during the sensitive breeding season. The established hestal protection zones have existed for decades and differ in two zones: the inner zone comprises 100 meters around the nest, where no disturbances are permitted all year round. In the outer zone, which extends up to 300 meters, special prohibitions apply from January 1st to July 31st.
