Riding tournament in Ludorf: 170 riders and exciting competitions on the weekend!

Next weekend, June 14th and 15th, 2025, the community of Südmüritz will be all about equestrian sports. A whopping 170 riders have already registered for the 57th edition of the popular riding tournament in Ludorf. The idyllic village, with its 500 inhabitants and just two kilometers from the Müritz, will be the venue for 25 dressage and jumping competitions, which will certainly provide exciting moments again. We are Müritzers reports on the anticipation of the organizers and participants.

The equestrian tournament is organized by the Ludorf riding, driving and vaulting club, with Heiko Frahm and Ilgen Wegner, together with Sabine Siedler and Olaf Dallmann, holding the reins. The atmosphere promises to be, as always, familiar and welcoming. Visitors can look forward to a great event with an entrance fee of just 2 euros - children can even attend for free!

Equestrian sport at a high level

The 170 riders include not only local talent, but also well-known faces such as Mario Mühlenberg, who won the Grand Prix last year, and Thomas Schröter, who is attracting attention with his current successes. Particular attention is paid to local riders such as Clara Nürnberg, Sophie Frahm and Hubert Gottwald, who all have good chances of getting to the top places. Hippotheca emphasizes that the exams are offered in various classes up to the intermediate level.

The tournament is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. on Saturday, with the program starting with tests for the youngest participants. The event not only has a sporting but also a cultural character. In addition to numerous competitions that will delight riders and spectators, there is a children's area with a bouncy castle and craft station for the little ones. The Winkel family treats visitors to the club tent with home-baked cakes and other delicacies.

Ludorf has an excellent reputation in the equestrian scene, not least due to the many volunteers and former club members who have contributed to the tradition of equestrian sports in the region.
