What is happening on the island of Usedom? There is currently a lot of construction going on in Peenemünde: 58 of a total of around 100 new rental and condominiums were recently completed. The demand for apartments is enormous, so almost all of the subsidized units have already been taken, apart from a single four-room apartment. The situation is similar with the privately financed rental apartments - only one larger unit is still available. This means that it has Baltic Sea newspaper documents the high demand, which is additionally served by the “De Riege” construction project. This is intended to significantly expand the living space in the town and even almost double Peenemünde's population.
Two new residential buildings with penthouses and roof terraces are planned, and planning permission is expected in 2025, while construction is expected to start in 2026. This means that the construction project could not only offer younger people an attractive living environment, but also open up new perspectives for long-established families. Construction company Vakon has shown a good hand here.
Port days in Wolgast and excellent employers
