Christmas magic in Wolgast: Three hazelnuts for Cinderella” live!
The meeting center on Hufelandstrasse in Wolgast has come up with something very special: For the first time, its own Christmas fairy tale is being performed here. The program includes “Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella”, a real classic that not only makes children's eyes shine, but also delights adults. This production stands out clearly from the well-known Czech-German fairy tale film, as each of the three actors plays several roles with lightning-fast costume changes.
The performances, which are supported by funding from the state's Western Pomerania Fund, the federal program “Living Democracy” and the city of Wolgast, promise an exciting theater experience. The actors studied at the renowned Zinnowitz Theater Academy and bring a lot of enthusiasm and craftsmanship with them, such as Momo Böhnke, who also excelled as a tailor for women and put a lot of effort into the costumes.
Performance details
The premiere of the piece will take place on November 29th at 6 p.m. Fans of the fairy tale can look forward to a 45-minute short version for children as well as a detailed 90-minute evening performance. The fairy tale “Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella” tells the moving story of a girl who lives with her father, a stepmother and her stepsister Dora. While Dora always gets the nice things, Cinderella, as she is called, has to do the dirty work. At a crucial moment, when her father returns from mass and brings Cinderella some hazelnut rice, her fairytale fate begins.
Cinderella experiences numerous adventures, supported by a frog and pigeons, while she meets the mysterious prince in the church. A golden slipper that she loses ultimately leads to her reunion with her lover, bringing the fairy tale to a perfect ending in which the villains come away empty-handed.
Overall, the production in Wolgast promises to be a festive highlight in the run-up to Christmas. Anyone who has had enough of the gray days of November and wants to watch a magical fairy tale will find the perfect opportunity for a fun visit to the theater here.
