Corona-News: Ludwigslust-Parchim reports zero new infections!

in the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim, one of the largest counties in Germany, the Corona location remains surprisingly quiet. Today, on June 12, 2025, no new infections were reported, which lifts the 7-day incidence to 0.0 per 100,000 inhabitants, such as [news.de] (https://www.news.de/gesundheit/855914389/corona-Nahlland-ludwigslust-parchim-heute-aktuell-12 -06-2025-coronavirus-to-zu-to-rki case-in-Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania-and-Neue-Covid-Variante-Nimbus/1/) reported. This positive development follows a total number of 102.194 positive people since the beginning of the pandemic.

Another look at the intensive care beds shows that the district with 14 available beds is well positioned. At the moment, however, only two of these beds are free, since everyone else is occupied, which is an interesting situation in view of the zero Covid patients on the intensive care units.

Overview of the current corona situation

The situation in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania remains stable overall. No new infections or deaths were registered here today. The 7-day incidence is 0.7 per 100,000 inhabitants, while the total number of positive people in the state has risen to 737,315. The age group with the most infections is still that of the 35- to 59-year-olds who recorded a total of 288,374 cases.

A look at the age distribution of the infections shows that young people in particular are affected by pandemic, with 23,374 cases for 0 to 4 year olds and 94,912 cases among 5 to 14 year olds. However, the proportion of older ones (over 60 years) in the total number of infections remains significant. The data illustrates the various challenges that the virus brings in different age groups.

The new Covid variant Nimbus

A topic that has been discussed in recent months is the newly discovered Corona variant Nimbus (NB.1.8.1), which has been observed since January 2025. The World Health Organization (WHO) has currently classified this variant as a "variant under observation", but so far there are no indications of more severe disease courses.

At the national level, 73 new infections and three other deaths were reported in Germany. The total number of deaths has been added to 187,701 since the outbreak of pandemic. The proportion of the deceased in the total scope of the corona cases is around 0.48 %.

vaccination and prevention

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) regularly informs about the vaccinations in Germany. According to the last figures published on April 8, 2023, 76.3 % of the population can be undermined, whereby the vaccination rate for at least one dose is 77.9 %. These are over 188 million vaccine doses. However, it should be noted that there are regional differences, and coronain-infahlen.de indicates that the vaccination rate in Ludwigslust-Parchim is 74.80 % for basic immuneization.

The new dashboard VacMap of the RKI also shows how well the vaccination recommendations are implemented and offers valuable insights into possible vaccinations that have to be closed. In this way, targeted measures to increase the vaccination rate in the affected regions can be taken.

Overall, it can be seen that despite the challenges of pandemic, the situation in Ludwigslust-Parchim and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania remains stable. The vaccination campaign continues to ensure comprehensive protection of the population.
