Train arrest from children: 1,178 minutes of rail chaos between Hamburg and Berlin!

On Saturday evening, two girls aged 12 and 14 caused a sweaty incident on the speed track between Hamburg and Berlin. At 7:20 p.m., the two stayed near the tracks near Grabow, which led to a bitter train arrest. An approaching freight train noticed the young people in good time, slowed down to the standstill and immediately alerted the police. The consequences were serious: the route was closed for about 50 minutes, which led to a total of 32 late trains and a chaos of over 1,178 minutes of train failures. The worm was in the rail traffic for almost 20 hours. Fortunately, the two girls got away with the horror and later handed over to their legal guardians in Parchim, as the SVZ reported.

The federal police urgently warns against considering rail systems as playgrounds. The dangers are real, especially for children and adolescents who often underestimate the risks. Railway lines are not suitable places for abbreviations or adventures. Like the federal police in their security campaign "Be safe on the road!" emphasizes that entering track systems is not only prohibited, but also life -threatening. Up to 15,000 volts flow in the railroad covers, which further increases the risks. Therefore, parents and teachers should increasingly educate and sensitize how the Deutsche Bahn and the Federal Police emphasize.

Enlightenment and prevention

As part of the ongoing security measures, the dangers of rail systems are increasingly pointed out at schools and in local communities. Prevention events take place in which children and adolescents should develop a better understanding of the risks. Deutsche Bahn has already set up six new prevention teams, which convey information on site and clarify material with age. Everything is done by school projects to the distribution of media packages such as "safely on the go with Oli" and "Olis Chance" to raise awareness of this explosive topic.

Also important: the trains cannot simply avoid obstacles. A modern ICE often runs at an average of 160 km/h through train stations and has a long braking distance of 800 to 1,000 meters. In addition, the trains are often hard of hearing, especially due to their construction, which increases the danger to the tracks that hurriedly rushed to the tracks.

To prevent this, Deutsche Bahn advises to adhere to the security rules. The white safety line in the train station may only be transferred to the train station and not in front of it. Smartphone distractions are another big topic that should be avoided so as not to endanger your own security. Unauthorized entering the tracks can be fined up to 5,000 euros as well as with a prison sentence of up to 10 years if the safety of railway operations is endangered.

The events on Saturday should be a wake -up call for everyone. Train systems are not a place for games or careless behavior. The cooperation between schools, parents and the authorities is required to sensitize children and adolescents and avoid accidents.
