Climbing park in Plau: Looking for a new successor for the adventure!

The climbing park in Plau am See, which has been offering exciting experiences since its opening in 2005, has exciting experiences. With his 20th anniversary, the operator Ralf Parlowski not only celebrates a round anniversary, but also seeks a successor to continue his vision in the region. Parlowski was inspired two decades ago by a video from a Lake Constance vacation that made it open to Germany's first climbing park. The area, which extends over three hectares and leased by the city, has established itself as a popular leisure goal over the years

Since the beginning, Parlowski has mastered many challenges, including skeptical authorities who initially did not take the climbing park seriously. But with stamina and a clear concept, he overcame these bureaucratic hurdles. "The first season was full of exciting moments, and I am pleased that we have been able to inspire so many visitors to this day," explains the operator, who is now looking for a new challenge.

The interest in taking over the climbing park is already noticeable: The first interested parties have visited the climbing park, which is a good sign for Parlowski. The lease with the city would continue to be continued, which gives potential successors security. "This is an important aspect for everyone who is interested in the climbing park," said Parlowski. The barefoot path, where visitors meet bare feet of different substrates, remains a highlight and attract numerous regular guests, like the Busch family from Saxony-Anhalt.

In his future "unrest" Ralf Parlowski wants to experience more travel adventures, especially after Hungary to Balaton, to see changes and collect new inspiration. But until then he hopes to hand over the climbing park in good hands.

Security in the climbing park

A central point of every climbing park experience is security. Climbing parks use different security systems, which are divided into different categories according to the standard EN 17109

  • category A: lowest security, consists of two classic carabiners.
  • category B: carabiner that lock when closing is possible.
  • category C: systems that prevent the simultaneous opening of both carabiners.
  • category D: security systems in which a complete posture is not possible.
  • category E: maximum security, systems are permanently attached during operation.

The most common systems in the climbing park include the Toprope protection , the self-protection and rail systems . The latter offer the advantage that human failure is excluded, since the climbing is hung at the beginning of the course and will be hung back in the end. Such systems are TÜV-tested and particularly suitable for families with children.

The climbing park in Plau am See not only offers adventures and fun, but also trust in the safety of the participants. But in view of the upcoming transition, the municipality is waiting for those who are best fulfilled to continue the target to continue the park. Overall, the climbing park remains an important part of the leisure time in the region, and it will be exciting to see how things will happen. A new operator could bring a breath of fresh air and take new challenges.
