THW and police: Successful exercise on the A7 near Hildesheim!

Last Saturday, June 14, 2025, the THW local association Hildesheim and the Hildesheim motorway police held an important exercise on the A7 federal highway. In the Hildesheim area, the north lane of the highway was used for the exercise, as it was closed due to road renovations. Around 20 volunteers of the THW and officials from the motorway police were actively on site on this day to improve their skills and interaction in operations on motorways.

The main goal of this exercise was clearly defined: it was about training the emergency services in the right approach to operations on motorways. In particular, the establishment of traffic safety, barriers and the implementation of operational and column trips were practiced. The constant changes of road conditions and traffic situations represent a special challenge, and the THW would like to prepare its strength in the best possible way in order to continue to work effectively in actual emergencies. There was no impairment of road traffic during the exercise, which was equally important for the forces used and the road users.
