Drama in the pasture: driver surrounded by cows!

During the night, a driver in northwest Mecklenburg found herself in a rather awkward situation. The 27-year-old had parked her vehicle in a pasture near the Gletzow district of Rehna and was surrounded there by a herd of cows. According to information from Northern Courier The driver lost control of her car, crashed through a hedge and a fence, and went straight onto the cows' property.

Although she tried several times to leave the pasture in her car, she got stuck where she was. In her distress, she turned to a friend who immediately organized help. A farmer from a neighboring village came straight to the rescue. Other farmers and the volunteer fire department also quickly arrived on the scene to clarify the situation.

Rescue operation under difficult conditions

The emergency services illuminated the pasture while the farmer used a shovel to drive the cows from the vehicle. The fire brigade finally managed to free the woman from her car and she was then handed over to the emergency services. Fortunately, the driver escaped the fright; she wasn't hurt. The police and fire brigade estimate the damage caused at around 7,000 euros.

In the middle of this chaotic scene were around 30 to 40 cows, including a “problem bull” named Sator. This is not only seen as problematic in the region, but could theoretically also be considered as a candidate for Spanish bullfighting.

Experiences from the region

Michael Drews from the Kochenelstorf agricultural cooperative has warned several times against entering pastures, especially at night. This situation is not new; In the past, people in northwest Mecklenburg had to be rescued from cattle. This clearly shows how important it is to pay attention when driving in rural areas.

Coincidentally, a similar incident from Mellinghausen in the Diepholz district came to light on subsequent days. There, a 43-year-old driver collided with a cow, which ultimately fled injured into the neighboring fields. This reports NDR. Here too, the search for the animal, which was hiding in a corn field, was difficult. Police have warned the public to drive with extra caution and be prepared to brake when driving in these rural areas.

In addition, based on the challenges of transporting animals on the roads, it is emphasized that increased caution is required, especially at dusk and at night. How L Drive informed, agricultural animals in particular are a common risk. Whether it's cows overgrazing or other wild animals crossing the road, drivers should always be ready to brake and pay particular attention to traffic in rural areas.
