Christmas buses in northwest Mecklenburg: joy on four wheels!
A little joy is good in the run-up to Christmas, and the Nordwestmecklenburg local bus has exactly that in mind. On December 8, 2025, the district-owned company transformed three buses into a festive world of wonder. The buses, decorated for Christmas both inside and out, will keep passengers smiling as they travel across the region. Managing director Oliver Kriegel himself brought 52 children from the “Klützer Schloßspatzen” daycare center to a Christmas fairy tale in Grevesmühlen, putting a beaming smile on the faces of not only the little ones, but also the adults.
“The aim of the campaign is to offer passengers a positive surprise during the hectic run-up to Christmas,” reports Kriegel. The first reactions from passengers are consistently positive. Nahbus spokeswoman Silke Fischer also emphasizes that the campaign comes at exactly the right time to shed a little light into the darkness during this stressful phase.
The magical effect of Christmas buses
The Christmas splendor of the buses not only attracts children, but also delights adults on their way to work or shopping. The festive decorations are intended to provide both a feast for the eyes and a feeling of community cohesion. “We want to give people a little joy and remind them that the run-up to Christmas is about more than just presents,” Kriegel continued. The Christmas buses will be on the road in the district until shortly after the New Year, setting a cheerful tone right into the New Year.
The use of these festive buses shows how creative ideas in local public transport can not only increase ridership, but also improve the quality of life in the region. At Nahbus we have a good knack for using simple means to achieve a big impact - and that is well received by the community.
So what does it look like when the bus rolls through the streets, decorated with lights and festive motifs? Maybe one or two of the passengers will become Christmas lucky ravens themselves while they can enjoy a few moments of contemplation in the hectic run-up to Christmas. If you have the opportunity, you shouldn't miss this trip - the Christmas buses not only make the little ones laugh, but also make the hearts of the grown-ups beat faster.
For all those who are on the go: It's worth taking a look out the window, especially now, because the Christmas buses offer something very special. Perhaps the sight will attract even more passengers who want to be infected by this festive atmosphere. The Nordwestmecklenburg local bus really hit the mark with this campaign.
