A ARD television recording and the translation into Low German also ensured a great success at the Ohnsorg Theater. Now it is brought to life in the idyllic open-air museum, which becomes the stage for the summer theater piece of the Fritz-Reuter-stage.

The history of the musical goes far back, with the first great success "The Black Crook" being premiered in New York in 1866. In Germany, the musical found entrance during the Weimar Republic when American reviews appeared in Berlin. Interestingly, German artists integrated elements of these reviews into their own work. Until the 1980s, the musical experienced its boom in Germany, favored by productions such as "Cats" in Hamburg. Nowadays, Germany has established itself as one of the most important locations in the international musical scene and always produces new, own musicals.
