The pre-Christmas season is in full swing in Schwerin! From December 5th to 7th, 2025, there are several events on the program that will delight the residents and visitors of the state capital. Under the motto “Music, Art and St. Nicholas Joy”, the city offers a colorful spectacle to get you in the mood for Christmas.

It starts on Friday, December 5th, with the popular winter safari at Schwerin Zoo. From 4 p.m., young and old can discover the winter animals on a 1.5-hour guided tour. At 8 p.m. it will be cultural in Speicher Schwerin, where the musical comedy “Haui – Traces in the Sand” will be on stage. Haui, accompanied by Peter Engelhardt, promises an entertaining evening. At the same time, visitors can experience a concert by HansHagen at Klangwert/werk3, which also starts at 8 p.m. Later in the night, Mr. B's Club at M8 invites you to a black music party at 10 p.m., cheered on by DJs Van Tell and DJ Joker.

Colorful activities on St. Nicholas Day

Saturday, December 6th, is dedicated to St. Nicholas Day. In the Railway and Technology Museum, children have the opportunity to pick up gifts and take part in a tour between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. At the same time, an Advent concert by the Collegium musicum Schwerin will take place in the throne room of Schwerin Castle at 7:30 p.m. under the direction of Christian Münch-Cordellier. Art lovers should not miss the opening of the exhibition “8 extended portraits” at the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Art Association, which takes place at 6 p.m. Director Hendrike Nagel will give an introduction here; Registration is required for dinner.

Another highlight this weekend is the Frankenhorst Christmas market, which attracts visitors on both Saturday and Sunday.
