Scheffler triumphs again with the Toll Sea Run - record participation!
Neubrandenburg, Deutschland - In bright sunshine and high summer temperatures, the 33rd great seedeaft took place in Neubrandenburg on June 14, 2025. With almost 1900 participants from several nations, this popular running event, which is not for nothing, has the title "The hardest in the north", became a real highlight in the local sports calendar. The run around the Tollensesee is not only known for its challenges, but also attracts runners every year: inside and viewers alike.
Chris-Marvin Scheffler from SV Turbine Neubrandenburg e.V., one of the largest popular sports clubs in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, won the marathon with a time of 2: 45.10 hours. Although he had to torture himself in the heat and had to take breaks, he repeated his previous year's victory. Last year he even set up a course record with 2: 32.48 hours. Stefan Lange from SV Turbine finished second in 2: 56.38 hours, while Jona-Jean Kuchinke from the Harz Mountain Running Association became third and mastered the route in 2: 57.14 hours.
winners and other categories
The winner Friederike Preuss from Pasewalk, who mastered the route in 3: 43.10 hours, was significantly exceeded in the past two years, where she became third. Jeannette Kiesow from HSV Neubrandenburg was second with 3: 50.80 hours, and Isa Koopmann from Kalkhorst secured third place in 3: 51.50 hours.
Not only the marathon runners: inside were in action. In the half marathon, Franziska Küster from RFC Löwenberg prevailed with a time of 1: 38.12 hours, while Janek Holtz from Templin shone in 1: 20.13 hours. In the 10-kilometer run, Jette Gonschorek from SCN won in 40:55 minutes and Jan-Henrik Lange from the HSG Uni Greifswald, who laid the route in 36:38 minutes. Both also secured the newly awarded mountain rating.
gratifying number of participants and support
The event was supported by over 300 volunteers, which is a phenomenal number for an event of this kind. Racing manager Jörg Knospe enthusiastically commented on the number of participants, which is the highest since Corona pandemic. This shows the continuing popularity of the TolleneseseLauf, which moves hundreds of runners to Neubrandenburg every year, and offers attractive routes for all age groups and skills.
Powerful walkers: The event also had to offer inside, because the walkers set a new record with 123 participants. Beate Warkentin (turbine) won the walkers in 1: 37.50 hours, while Hartmut Wolff (the Wolffgang) achieved the fastest time for men with 1: 26.26 hours.
The three-strongest clubs at Sparkassenlauf were rewarded with 500 euros checks: the Neubrandenburg pharmacy diving club, VfL Burg Stargard and the IGS Neubrandenburg were able to look forward to this recognition.
With so much positive response, it is no wonder that the next great sequence is already planned for June 13, 2026. So if you got a taste, you should mark the appointment in the calendar and look forward to another exciting running event in the beautiful Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania!
