The award: Conrad-Ekhof Prize

The Conrad Ekhof Prize has been an integral part of Schwerin theater life since its introduction in 1998. This award, which is awarded annually by the theater fans of the Mecklenburg State Theater at the end of the season, honors outstanding artists of the house. It is associated with prize money of 2500 euros and a gold medal in the jewelry case. Conrad Ekhof, after which the award is named, is considered one of the best German actors of the 18th century and was celebrated, among other things, as a "father of German acting". He significantly shaped the realistic style of representation in Germany and was the founder of the first German Schauspiel Academy in Schwerin, as Wikipedia records.

This year the committed theater teacher Linnea Vogel is also honored. She receives the Friedrich von Flotow medal for her exemplary commitment to theater pedagogy. Her impressive achievements are shown in children and youth performances as well as in her solo piece "A picture of me" that she has listed more than 30 times for students from 11 years.
