Massive traffic jams and construction sites: Rostock comes to a standstill!

Bad Doberan, Deutschland - Traffic in and around Rostock will once again present itself as a challenge for drivers on June 28, 2025. Updated information about traffic jams and closures are essential in order to get to your destination safely and on time. There is a detailed reporting on the traffic situation in Rostock, Bad Doberan, Sanitz and Güstrow today at the Ostsee Zeitung, which provides information about the current construction sites and traffic reports. In the past few hours there have been several traffic jams and closures on the streets that cause unrest in everyday life of commuters.

The A19 and A20 motorways as well as the federal highways B103, B105 and B110 are particularly affected. The "TomTom" data service provides precisely information based on GPS coordinates of millions of devices and updates it every five minutes. In addition, providers such as Google Maps and Apple cards complement the traffic information with their own data. As Ostsee Zeitung Planned construction work on Neubrandenburger Straße a big topic for the coming months, with sometimes massive restrictions in traffic.

construction work and closures

The Stadtwerke Rostock have launched extensive plans for district heating, which will lead to months of closure from February next year. It is specifically about the southern section of Neubrandenburger Straße, where restrictions must be expected in February 2025. The remodeling of this important traffic artery will not only affect the commuters, but also heavily burden the residents. Traffic will be noticeable in both urban and national space.

There are also other construction sites: the bridge in the racing railway avenue at the zoo is to be demolished by autumn 2026, and the Western Pomerania bridge over the Warnow is replaced by a new building, which could drag over a period of around 15 years. The permanent construction sites will significantly influence the traffic situation in Rostock in the near future.

current traffic situation

On the live map of the traffic information portal, several traffic jams can already be clearly seen. The K12 is currently completely blocked between B103 and Wilsener Straße, as is the L10 between the Westzubringer and Satower Straße. Until this moment, no time losses have been reported on the blocked routes, which does not necessarily make traffic easier because many diversions have to be taken into account. The K22 also has several construction sites that provide delays between Lübecker Strasse and Max-Eyth-Strasse.

  • ** K12 **: Fully blocked between B103 and Wilsener Straße
  • ** L10 **: Fully blocked between the western supplier and Satower Straße
  • ** L22 **: Fully blocked between Lübecker Strasse and Max-Eyth-Straße

It is expected that the traffic situation will be burdened by the upcoming holiday in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. Short -decided day trippers from the still inactive federal states will also move on the streets and could therefore traffic traffic. According to the ADAC, the long-distance streets are particularly stressed to and from the North and Baltic Sea, especially next weekend.

In order not to hinder traffic, it should be paid to the formation of a rescue alley, since the non -observing can result in high fines. As soon as there is a stalling traffic, the rescue alley must already be formed in order to enable the emergency vehicles to get the rapid access.

We advise all drivers to keep themselves informed about the current traffic reports and, if necessary, plan alternative routes in order to get through the traffic day. So stay attentive and wish you a good trip!
