New coalition agreement: Opportunities for Rostock's rural future!

A new chapter for the Rostock district could spend the recently signed coalition agreement between the CDU, CSU and SPD. The contract, which saw the light of day at the beginning of May, has brought it to an impressive 150 pages and not only promises a variety of measures, but also opportunities for rural areas that are of particular interest in the region. District Administrator Sebastian Constien (SPD) carefully researched the contract and sees optimism for future development.

The strengthening of rural areas is particularly emphasized. In Chapter 1.5 of the coalition agreement, the importance of villages is discussed as a lifelong and lovable homeland. The federal government also plans to increase the funds provided for flood and coastal protection as well as for rural development. This gives hope for more financial support for ongoing projects in the district, which are funded from the GAK pot (community task to improve the agricultural structure and coastal protection). In recent years, measures such as the renovation of the Lüssow primary school or the renovation of the Thürkower Hortbuilding have been implemented, reports the Nordkurier .

project for promoting rural spaces

The GAK is established as a central funding instrument to improve the agricultural structure and coastal protection in Germany and is aimed at both agriculture and forestry as well as the development of rural areas. This support from the GAK pot is of great importance, especially for the Rostock district. The legal foundations are anchored in Article 91a of the Basic Law, and there is a joint framework plan for the federal and state governments that determine the funding measures and types, such as bmel explained.

However,

District Administrator Consti indicates that the funds were drastically reduced in the run -up to the new government. He therefore demands that the allocations are attributed to the previous level at least in order not to endanger the ongoing projects. District member Hans-Werner Moltzen (AfD) is concerned about the future of these funding, especially with regard to what happens when the money fails.

innovations in public transport

Another contemporary topic in the coalition agreement is the drive turn in local public transport (public transport). The district of Rostock has already taken clear steps in this direction with 52 hydrogen buses and two hydrogen filling stations in Güstrow and Bad Doberan. These developments have been supported by funding that should promote greener mobility in the region.

But other important points for agriculture are not neglected. In the coalition agreement, for example, the complete reintroduction of the agrardiesel refund and the end of the fabric power balance, which could be an advantage for many farmers. It remains to be seen how the personnel decisions for the ministries, especially the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, will be canceled. Here, among other things, the Bavarian Minister of Agriculture Michaela Kaniber (CSU) is acted as a potential successor, as reported on Land & Forst

Overall, the coalition agreement promises some positive perspectives for the region, the implementation of which is now crucial. Lundso preliminary plans, the district of Rostock could go on a new, future -oriented projects - only to hope that they will actually be put into practice!
