Greifswald in turmoil: Millions in damage after break-in at entrepreneur's villa!

A very special kind of break-in suddenly changed the life of Greifswald entrepreneur Sven Hasl on the night of October 10th. Hasl, who was in Munich at the time of the incident, experienced a shocking loss, which initial estimates put at up to one million euros. While he was only asleep for seven minutes, the alarm system in his villa went off, for which the perpetrators had cleverly waited. This is reported by the Northern Courier.

The thieves escaped with a variety of valuables, including fine watches such as Audemars Piguet and Rolex, rings, bracelets as well as handbags, gold and cash. What was particularly painful for Hasl was the loss of a unique souvenir: a pearl that was left to him by his late Maltese dog Dina. Despite the material assets that are all insured, there are memories that cannot be replaced, says the entrepreneur. A planned installation of video surveillance remained unfinished because Hasl was no longer able to do so due to the death of a friend who had commissioned it.

Burglary in the city

But Hasl's villa is not the only crime scene in Greifswald. On October 2nd there was also a break-in on Robert-Blum-Strasse. Here, too, two unknown people entered an apartment and stole jewelry and watches worth several hundred thousand euros. An attentive witness noticed the activated alarm system and promptly alerted the police. Despite an immediate search with several patrol cars and a tracking dog, the perpetrators remained undetected and escaped across the yard Picture reported.

The police are still looking for clues and are asking citizens for their help. Anyone who saw anything or has information about the break-ins should contact the Greifswald police station on 03834540224. The police internet watchdog can also be used anonymously at www.polizei.mvnet.de.

Safe neighborhoods are required

Both incidents raise questions about security in Greifswald. Hasl, who is also known as part of the duo “Die Super 2” and wanted to present a song at Oktoberfest, is grateful for the many calls for support after the break-in. However, concerns remain that such incidents could happen again. In the hope that the information posted will help the perpetrators be caught, the entrepreneur has already upgraded his burglary protection systems.

Together, citizens can help make their neighborhoods safer and prevent such attacks. There is nothing more important than a safe home.
