Traffic jams and construction sites in Stralsund: Current traffic reports here!
On November 1, 2025, the traffic situation in Stralsund and on the island of Rügen will be in focus again. The current traffic jam report from the Ostsee-Zeitung offers comprehensive real-time information about traffic jams, construction sites and traffic delays. How Baltic Sea newspaper reported, the data comes from a variety of roads, including the busy A20 motorway and federal highways such as the B96, B105, B194 and B196. This information is the result of a collaboration with the “TomTom” service, which uses GPS coordinates from millions of devices.
Using data from around 80 million mobile devices and government road sensors, traffic information is updated every five minutes. In addition to TomTom, other providers such as Google Maps, Apple Maps and Garmin also offer important traffic data.

There have also been various traffic disruptions on the B96 in the past. The route between Altefähr and Stralsund was affected due to an accident and rescue work. Fortunately, most of these disruptions have now been lifted, which benefits Stralsund's commuters and visitors.
