Harbor festival in Prerow: Free entry and fun for the whole family!

Prerow became the setting of a maritime spectacle that is supposed to inspire both locals and guests. The harbor festival promises a colorful program for the whole family, and admission is free as always. It is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the port atmosphere on the Baltic Sea.

On Friday, the first day of the festival, the happy sounds of the shanty choir "De Fischlänner Seelüd" will start at 4 p.m. The live music from Hamburg's local pilot will create a good atmosphere from 7 p.m., and from 10 p.m. the dance party in the marquee does not leave a foot. In the meantime, visitors can enjoy the maritime cuisine at the different stands that offer delicious specialties and refreshments.

Saturday starts at 11 a.m. with the conversations of Seemann Loschi, whereby the dragon boat race causes additional excitement between 1 and 6.30 p.m. From 8 p.m. the band Heide & Micha will provide musical entertainment. The family program also includes a bouncy castle and numerous maritime hands -on offers, which will certainly ensure bright children's eyes. The event closes on both days at 8 p.m.

But the harbor festival in Prerow is not the only maritime event in the region. The maritime days in Bremerhaven, from August 16 to 20, also promise a well -groomed spectacle. Up to 80 different ships, including magnificent windjammer and motorized boats, are exhibited in the old and new harbor there. A highlight will be the open-air dummy film concert by the Philharmonic Orchestra on Charlie Chaplin's "The Circus" on August 20. In addition, around 60 music acts are to be expected on four stages, accompanied by daily shanty choirs. Jokes and fun are also inevitable here, especially with the first “Neus Festival” with international DJs at the north end of the new port.

For all those who love water sports, Prerow offers another attraction: the trial day for kitesurfing, which will be repeated every Saturday until July 31, 2025. For 99 euros, interested parties can get to know the basics of kitesurfing, including kit structure, theory and first flight exercises in shallow water. If you then complete a beginner course worth 195 euros, you will receive the trial course free of charge. There is the possibility to acquire the kitel license, which gives a decisive advantage when entering kitesurfing.
