Tragic motorcycle accident near Jarmen: lifesavers fight in vain

On Saturday afternoon there was a tragic traffic accident on the B110 between Jarmen and Tutow, which ended in the death of a 36-year-old motorcyclist. The collision occurred west of Jarmen, shortly after the intersection with the district road from the direction of Loitz/Bentzin. The motorcyclist, who attempted an overtaking maneuver with his Suzuki, crashed into the rear left side of an Audi, whose 35-year-old driver apparently did not notice the situation in time.

Unfortunately, the arrival of medical help was delayed because another emergency in Jarmen required emergency services. Firefighters who happened to be nearby immediately took over the resuscitation of the seriously injured driver. A specially trained firefighter was able to successfully revive the man after a critical phase, and he was then taken to the Greifswald University Hospital. However, around 9:30 p.m., the attending doctor had to announce that the motorcyclist had died from his serious injuries. The B110 was completely closed for around two and a half hours that day.
