The anticipation of the contemplative time of the year is increasing in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The Löcknitz Local History and Castle Association has organized two highlights in November, which offer varied experiences not only musically but also socially. The start is the Christmas concert on November 28, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. in the venerable Löcknitz Church. The Brandenburg Concert Orchestra Eberswalde, under the direction of Jens Georg Bachmann, will create a historic concert together with the soprano Thea Schütte.
Tickets for the concert have been available since October 19th and cost 15 euros in advance and 18 euros at the box office. If you want to make sure you get a spot, you shouldn't hesitate, as demand is high. Admission is granted from 5:30 p.m. so that visitors have enough time to prepare for the musical experience.
Advent season and fairytale magic
The concert will be followed by an exciting Advent market on November 29, 2025, which will open at 1:00 p.m. on the castle grounds. At 2:00 p.m. the mayor will officially open the event and the hustle and bustle will begin. The market activity is accompanied by a mandolin concert in the castle's ballroom at 1:00 p.m., which promises festive sounds for all age groups.
At the Advent market, guests can expect a variety of stands that offer both sweet and savory delicacies. In the castle cellar and on the castle meadow, visitors can treat themselves to coffee and cake - Heidi's popular quark balls in particular promise to be a real treat. A very special highlight for the little guests is the gnome craft room, which is open from 2 p.m. Here the children can let their creativity run wild.
Fairytale experiences and music
Not to be forgotten are the performances by the duo “Diana & Marco”, who will present a cheerful Christmas program. The clown Marco will also keep the children entertained with his PLAYMOBIL. Visitors can look forward to a special culinary experience when “Hansel & Gretel” bake fresh bread and cakes in the wood-burning oven.
In addition to these festive events, Advent concerts in other cities also enrich the pre-Christmas season. Loud Reservix Numerous different music events take place in November and December, which provide a great way to get in the mood for the Christmas season. Participants include musicians, orchestras and choirs who present a colorful range of musical styles - from classical to contemplative, modern and uplifting.
Another highlight in the period that followed was the event on Epiphany, January 6th, in the Breitenberg parish church. The musical performance by Christiane Hainzl and former fellow students will take into account the custom of “Weighing the Child” and create a festive atmosphere from 5 p.m. Admission is free, which makes this exquisite event all the more inviting.
Whether in a concert or at the Advent market, the pre-Christmas period in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has a colorful offering for all generations. We can only hope that the festive atmosphere spreads across the region like a pleasant melody.
