Peace ride in Western Pomerania: 150 cyclists conquer the Uecker-Randow!
On Saturday, July 6, 2025, the "Pasewalker Cycling Tour", which was eagerly awaited, took place, in which around 150 cyclists cycled through the beautiful Uecker-Randow region. Under the experienced management of ex-Olympic champion Olaf Ludwig, the participants were drawn to the long distance of 105 kilometers and the shorter, tourist variant of 47 kilometers. The latter was chosen by families such as the Beiersdorffs who were traveling with their son Ansgar. The varied route led through picturesque places such as Viereck, Torgelow, Hammer, Rothemühl, new, and many other altitudes.
The cyclists struggled at an average stamp of almost 20 km/h, with some even speeds of up to 40 km/h. Participant Steffi Jäkel was particularly enthusiastic about the route and the organization of the event. Nevertheless, there were also concerned voices-Gerhard Wolf, one of the oldest participants at the age of 78, expressed concerns about the e-bike drivers, whose technology and speed are becoming increasingly important.
a safe coastal protection
The Pasewalker Cycling Tour was organized by the Pasewalk Stadtwerke in close cooperation with a health insurance company, which underlines the local aspect of the event. Medals and refreshments were distributed by the organizational manager Mandy Ruthenberg and her dedicated team. But there was also a little incident: one participant contracted injuries in a fall and had to be taken to the hospital, while all other cyclists ran safely.
The establishment of such cycling events is not only a promotion of health sports, but also a sign of the love of nature and the regional community. With a view to the future, it is already clear that the Pasewalker Cycling tour will also take place next year, which will only increase the anticipation among the bike enthusiasts.
e-bikes and their role in cycling
An important topic that shaped the event is the influence of e-bikes on cycling. According to [radsport-wulff.de] (https://radsport-wulff.de/e-bike-championate-und-radport events/), the right accessories are crucial for comfort and security. Padded saddles, ergonomic handles and modern lighting systems play an important role in a pleasant driving experience - especially on longer distances.
whether a padded saddle for more comfort, protective sheets against splash water or a dash cam for additional security - the selection is large. With the increasing number of e-bike drivers, the demand for safety-relevant extras has also grown. High-quality warning vests and breakdown sets should be essential for every e-bike to ensure the safety in road traffic.
The event in Pasewalk has once again shown how important and connecting cycling. Whether on the classic wheel or in the saddle of an e-bike-the joy of movement and nature are in the foreground.
For the upcoming events in the region, such as the "Rad am Haff" tour in Mönkebude or the "Mecklenburger-Lake Round", which has 300 kilometers in length and already attracted over 5000 participants in May, the mixture of sporting challenge and community event remains a central concern.
