Glass fiber expansion in Strasburg: Digital future begins now!

The digital infrastructure in Strasburg faces a significant step forward: The planned expansion of the fiber optic network is intended to significantly improve the transmission quality and network stability. This initiative is not only an answer to the growing requirements in the home office and digital learning, but also an essential part of a nationwide gigabit strategy, which should guarantee high -quality internet supply by 2030. In this way, the path for future -proof networking will be paved in the coming years.

On June 18, a public citizens' information evening will take place in the foyer of the Max-Schmeling-Halle, which begins at 6 p.m. Here the citizens have the opportunity to ask questions and to find out about the planned measures. In addition, from June 17th to 21st, a mobile consulting point will be set up on the marketplace, where interested citizens can receive technical advice from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Telekom shop truck. The city administration of Strasburg welcomes the investments of the telecommunications companies and sees powerful network connections as part of the basic equipment for their citizens, comparable to water and electricity.

Important aspects of the expansion project

The installation of a fiber optic connection is associated with little structural effort. Home owners are of course included in the planning. As a rule, the installation in the building takes less than an hour, and costs for tenants usually only arise when the new connection is activated. Contact persons are available to the citizens to answer questions about technology, tariffs and availability. It is important to emphasize that participation in the information events of Deutsche Telekom is voluntary, and the decision for or against a fiber optic connection is left to the citizens.

But the fiber optic expansion in Strasburg is only a small component of a comprehensive plan at the federal level. As reports bmv.de, the Senate aims to provide all households and companies by 2030. For this purpose, a gigabit strategy with more than 100 measures to accelerate digital infrastructures was created. The progress already shows that at least 50% of all households should be supplied with fiber fiber by the end of 2025.

District Mayor Oliver Igel underlines the need for a nationwide supply in the current discussions and points out that telecommunications companies are already active in various districts. Above all, the interventions in the street scene are limited to the minimum in order to increase the attractiveness of the locations and not to impair the quality of life of the residents. Further information about the current state of the expansion projects is provided on the websites of the respective telecommunications providers and via requirements monitoring, since the feedback from the citizens is also crucial for the expansion decisions, such as berlin.de shown.

The digital future can begin! The citizens of Strasburg are cordially invited to actively participate in the dialogues and help to set the course for a powerful digital infrastructure.
